ACO Water Management’s ACO Raindrain B125 system was installed for homeowners in Mountpleasant, Hampshire.
The owners of a bungalow in Mountpleasant, Hampshire wanted to block-pave their front garden as they were no longer able to properly attend to it. Berkshire-based landscaping contractor, Bradfield & Davies, was tasked with renovating the driveway and providing a suitable solution.
The 200 sqm driveway required a generous amount of channel drainage to cater for the anticipated rainfall run-off. Due to the considerable driveway slope, an effective water management system was required along the front of the drive, in order to sensibly and safely drain the water away, and also prevent pooling.
Given the need to provide a low-maintenance and long lasting solution it was essential that the drainage was high-quality and able to cope with the demands of light-duty vehicle traffic.
To achieve this, the contractor turned to ACO, and installed 18m of RainDrain B 125 with Atec coated HeelGuard™ grates along the front of the driveway.
The Atec coating was particularly important for this project as it helps to protect the grating and allows it to last longer than traditional cast iron grates. The profile of RainDrain B 125 also improves the speed of water run-off and promotes self-cleaning which is key to keeping maintenance to a minimum.
The lightweight channel drainage system is easy to install as well as highly sustainable. Manufactured from ACO’s sustainable, high strength recycled polymer concrete – Vienite®, RainDrain B 125 helps deliver SuDs solutions for domestic driveway projects.
The finished driveway not only meets the main goal of achieving a low-maintenance solution but exceeds it. Specifying the Atec coating delivered further peace of mind for the homeowner, while Bradfield & Davies were able to install the product with ease and complete the project in on time and to budget.
