Commercial development, Fishponds, Bristol

Contractor: Barnwood Construction Ltd
Type of works: installed Betta absorptive barrier and Betta reflective acoustic barrier.

A 2.5m high Betta reflective acoustic barrier and a 2.5m high Betta absorptive barrier have been installed for Barnwood Construction Limited on a commercial development in the Fishponds area of Bristol.

The scheme was designed to reduce noise nuisance to residential properties bordering one of the site boundaries. In order to lower the risk of noise reverberating between the new building and the noise barrier, a Betta absorptive barrier was used. The more economic Betta reflective barrier is being used in the open areas.

The client required the standard Betta reflective acoustic barrier specification and a timber backing to the Betta absorptive acoustic barrier to present an acceptable face to the residential properties. The absorptive face is not going to be under attack from forklift or material movement and the client therefore specified our standard industrial five timber trim finish to this face.
