A developer in Stockport, Greater Manchester has bought an unused basement in a large building and is turning this into two apartments for rental.
Wykamol were asked to attend site 6 months ago to look at a design for the waterproofing of this structure, designs were carried out and submitted alongside plans to the local authority to turn this space into liveable accommodation.
These were quickly approved and Wykamol were able to attend site to check on the progress as seen in the images and to also sign off the waterproofing for building control.
Type C cavity drain membranes are being used throughout the basement, linked via a modular drainage system.
Our high visibility membrane is also being used on the floor and this has helped the contractor, by being able to see all the taped joints more clearly.
8mm wall membranes are being used and all fixings have specialist preformed seals to ensure no hydrostatic pressure can escape through the plug.
This great space is being converted into a 1 x 2-bedroom apartment and a 1-bedroom apartment.
A great investment by the developer for a small amount that he has paid for the basement.
Wykamol were able to issue warranties on this project and sign off all designs in case the properties are later sold.
