The Brief
To increase the secure handling and storage of the companies mail as they found that they were losing and misplacing their post, sorting and distribution of the mail was time consuming and that there were no secure measures in place regarding access and privacy to sensitive mail being distributed around the company.
Incoming mail would be posted into individual mailboxes via a letterflap and then retrieved by the recipient of the mail via a digital locking system. This would have the effect of cutting out the use of keys and increasing security when using the mailbox (as codes could be changed and updated as employees left the company).
The new mailing system was to be installed in the companys main headquarters in a number of offices around the building.
The Proposal
Our sales and design and development department worked in unison with the companies interior designers to agree the design, operational functionality, size and colour of the new mailbox system.
The mailing solution would consist of an Incoming and Outgoing mail system as illustrated.
The Product - Digital Locking Mailboxes
Standalone battery operated digital locks provides the user with immediate and simple keypad access without the need for a key. Users have the flexibility to set and change their personal entry code whilst a pre-set master code ensures that supervisor access is always available at all times.
Electronic and Salto Mailboxes systems are also available.
Manufacture and Production
The mailboxes were developed as two separate modules. The first to collect a large amount of outgoing mail and the second for sorting incoming mail, which would be securely stored until the recipient of the mail taped in their personal digital code to retrieve their post.
Delivery and Installation
To ensure that the job ran as smoothly as possible two highly experienced engineers from SLB travelled to the companies site to supervise the installation process.
