Mapei’s Mapelastic AquaDefense, the popular onecomponent, ultra quick drying, ready-to-use waterproofing membrane, is now available in a handy 7.5kg bucket.

Mapelastic AquaDefense is ideal for waterproofing substrates prior to installing ceramic, porcelain, natural stone tiles and mosaics. It is a rapid solution for waterproofing bathrooms and wet rooms. The versatile product can bond to a wide range of surfaces such as concrete, screeds, timber or existing tiles. It is conveniently ready-to-use straight from the tub and can be applied by roller or brush.

The new 7.5kg size caters for smaller scale projects, it also allows for easier transportation. Designed for easy installation over flat or curved surfaces it is ideal within confined spaces. Conveniently, the tubs are also re-sealable, ensuring none of the product is wasted.

Once applied Mapelastic AquaDefense creates a watertight and seamless elastic membrane. This membrane provides a thin, continuous barrier to protect adjacent rooms and floors from water damage. For common problem areas like wall and floor junctions, corners and drains, it is combined with Mapei’s reinforcing Mapeband to provide additional protection. Mapelastic AquaDefense’s quick drying properties ensure it is ready to be tiled on after just 4 hours.

Mapelastic AquaDefense can be utilised in a wide variety of applications. This includes internally on floors and walls and in residential and commercial buildings. In addition to bathroom and shower areas, Mapelastic AquaDefense can be employed for kitchens, cafeteria areas and laundry rooms as well as outdoor areas such as balconies (when used in combination with a primary waterproof membrane where inhabited areas exist beneath).
