GLASSOLUTIONS latest generation of advanced multi-functional glazing has delivered the optimum balance of thermal, solar and acoustic control for two high-end refurbishment projects in the shadow of St Pauls Cathedral.
Partnering with External Envelope Contractor Euro Windows, GLASSOLUTIONS designed a glass specification featuring the new SGG Cool-Lite Xtreme 60/28 to complement the bespoke window system being used. Over 600m2 of double glazed units were crafted for the new complex, which takes on a neutral aesthetic appearance to complement its famous neighbour St. Pauls Cathedral.
Given its bustling prestigious setting, the need to provide adequate noise insulation for both the users of the offices and the residents of the hotel was paramount to the specification.
Sales Executive for GLASSOLUTIONS, Ian Snow, said: For this application the asymmetry and thicknesses of the inner and outer glasses, combined with a SGG Stadip laminated inner glass, ensured that the noise insulation requirements of both the offices and the hotel within One St Pauls Churchyard were met.
This was the first time that we had the opportunity to apply the recently launched SGG Cool-Lite Xtreme 60/28 glass product on such a large scale. It enables the occupants of the building to receive 60% of the suns natural light, while reducing the heat gain to less than 30%. Coupled with a 1.0 W/m2k U-value, the glass ensures the best possible thermal efficiency for a double glazed unit.
