Client: Bewley Homes PLC
Type of works: installed Betta reflective acoustic barrier to reduce noise pollution from M3.

The scheme was designed to reduce M3 noise nuisance to new commercial and residential properties. The work consisted of 2 to 3m high concrete slabs, retaining a loose formed earth bund on the motorway side, with 3 to 5m high Betta reflective acoustic barrier above.

The Betta Group carried out the scheme in conjunction with Bewley Homes PLC, consulting structural engineers Stuart Michael Associates and Milbury Systems Limited.

The Betta Group co-ordinated the work, designing the steel posts to incorporate not only the acoustic barrier, but also the concrete retaining slabs designed and installed by Milbury Systems.

With very tight tolerances, the work required good communications between Stuart Michael Associates, Bewley Homes, Milbury Systems and The Betta Group.
