Furnitubes has provided a wide range of seating for the Ruskin Square development in Croydon. The development consists of 625 new residential units.
Eleven major new buildings are being constructed, interlinked with expansive new public realm provision, with the focal point being the creation of this exciting new space designed by muf architecture / art.
Furnitubes’ designers worked closely with muf architects to create wide range of seating forms, providing three-dimensional models and full-scale prototypes for consideration en route to the final designs.
The different designs include plain seats and benches, reduced-scale seating for children, kissing seats and leaning platforms, many of which utilise the post and rails around the perimeter planting beds for the mounting of backrests, resulting in a very unique and site-specific design solution for the Ruskin Square scheme.
